Clouding or Mottling

Uneven color or poor metallic effect is caused by varying film thickness of the sprayed paint, resulting in uneven distribution of metallic particles.

Cause:

1. Insufficient stirring of the paint.
2. Wrong type of thinner or a thinner with poor solvency.
3. Incorrect spray viscosity.
4. Uneven film thickness during spraying and poor spray technique.
5. Insufficient drying time.
6. Spray coat is too thick or too wet.
7. Incorrect application temperature.

Correction:

1. Spray additional coats using proper technique to cover the defects.
2. Sand and repaint the surface once it has dried completely.
