Cause:

Contaminations: The surface is contaminated with oil, wax, silicone, grease, etc. Silicones adhere strongly to the paint film and require special attention for removal. Even small amounts, such as sanding dust or dirty cloths, can cause this issue.

  1. Soap or cleaning agent residues during surface preparation.
  2. Use of silicone-containing polishes near the painting area.
  3. Contaminated compressed air, spray gun, tools, or other equipment.
  4. Too high air pressure during spraying or holding the spray gun too close to the surface.

Prevention:

  1. Thoroughly clean the surface with a degreaser.
  2. Avoid using silicone-based polishes near the painting area.
  3. Install an air filtration system that removes oil and moisture from the air.
  4. Ensure regular maintenance of the compressed air system.
  5. Make sure the spray gun and other pneumatic tools are properly maintained.

Correction:

  1. Sand the affected area, clean thoroughly, and repaint.
